London Design Festival: An open source Festival
The London Design Festival is a yearly event that brings together hundreds of thousands of design aficionados from around the world to celebrate design in London. This unique design Festival celebrates every facet of design based on an open platform model. It is the only global Festival that brings the 26 disciplines of design together during a concentrated period to encourage cross pollination of ideas, images and business. It is also, and importantly, one colossal party.
Design and digital conversion
The Festival’s strategic vision since its inception has been to celebrate all facets of design permitting it to highlight important economic and creative sectors on any given year that may not otherwise have been highlighted by a singular vision of design.
As London is quickly becoming the global reference for all things digital the Festival, with longstanding partner Carrenza, has chosen to dedicate a day of the Festival to exploring the union of design and technology.
This day of celebrating digital design will explore computer based design through educational sessions, presentations, seminars, networking events and an experiential public platform with particular emphasis on the ubiquitous web, 3D worlds and special effects.

Y Design Awards: an evening to recognise and celebrate the best examples of creativity & originality in design through the use of technology
Last year’s Y Design Awards were immensely popular with over 420 submissions from 112 UK’s leading agencies. We also had submissions from outside the UK which we couldn’t allow but this illustrated the growth in awareness of the event.
The 2008 Awards
The aim of the Y Design Awards is to recognise the best creative talent in the UK’s digital space. The winners will be announced at a strictly “no dress code” awards ceremony on September 17th 2008 at the Clore Ballroom of The Royal Festival Hall, London.
